Rachel Otieno from the Kenyan Ministry of Water & Sanitation seconded to UT3 Paul Sabatier

Experienced data analyst, Rachel Otieno from the Kenyan Water Resources Authority, under the Ministry of Water and Sanitation, arrived safely in Toulouse and started her secondment in early March at the Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier University. For the first few weeks of her secondment she was working closely with Fred Guerin from the joint research unit Géosciences Environnement Toulouse (Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier University, CNRS, IRD, CNAP & CNES), using gas chromatography to analyze air samples & greenhouse gas content.

Unfortunately, her secondment, initially planned over three months, was cut short because of the covid-19 outbreak, and she had to quickly return to her home country after three weeks. However, Rachel will return in the next year or so to complete her secondment.
