INSA’s first secondment
INSA’s first secondment took place over the month of February. Fabrice Gangneron, an experienced researcher from Géosciences Environnement Toulouse laboratory (joint research unit under the Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier University, CNRS, IRD, and CNES) spent a month in the Sereer region, Senegal studying the nitrogen cycle in practice, its utilisation and fertilization strategies in the cultivation of millet and groundnuts.
During the secondment, Fabrice Gangneron, accompanied by Juliette Codiat, MSc student in agronomy at AgroParisTech, in collaboration with the Institut Sénégalais de Recherche Agricole (ISRA), the hosting organization, conducted a series of interviews with local farmers on the utilization of fertilizers and ways to improve conservation of soil fertility.
More information and the findings from the secondment will be shared shortly on the website.
